Step 1: Download and Sign Up
First things first—grab the app from the App Store. Android is coming soon, so sign up for our waitlist if you're on Android.
When you sign up, you'll choose your account type:
- Business Account – For service providers who want to receive leads AND send referrals
- Personal Account (Power Networker) – For people who send referrals but don't receive them
Most service professionals choose a Business Account, but if you're someone who knows a lot of people and wants to earn from those connections without running a service business, the Personal Account is perfect.
Step 2: Complete Your Profile
Your profile is your first impression. Here's what to include:
Business Name
Use the name your clients know you by. This appears when you send referrals and helps partners recognize you.
Industry & Services
Be specific. Instead of just "Construction," list your actual services like "Kitchen Remodeling, Bathroom Renovation, General Contracting." This helps partners know exactly what types of leads to send you.
Service Area
Set your geographic coverage so you only receive leads you can actually take.
Connection Fee
This is what you charge for receiving a referral. It's the fee you pay to the person who sends you a lead. Industry standard ranges from 3-10% of the job value, or a flat fee for smaller jobs.
Step 3: Connect with Partners
ReferVo is built on trusted relationships. You won't see random strangers—only people you've connected with.
How to Add Connections
- Search by name or email – If they're already on ReferVo, send a connection request
- Invite via link – Share your unique invite link with people who aren't on the platform yet
- Accept incoming requests – Check your pending requests for people trying to connect with you
Who Should You Connect With?
Think about two things:
- Who sends you work? – Real estate agents, property managers, other contractors in complementary trades
- Who can you send work to? – Trusted service providers you'd confidently recommend to your own clients
Step 4: Set Up Payments
To receive referral fee payouts, you'll need to connect your Stripe account. This takes about 2 minutes:
- Go to Settings > Payments
- Tap Connect Stripe Account
- Follow the prompts to enter your bank details
ReferVo uses Stripe's secure Express accounts, so your financial information is never stored on our servers.
Step 5: Send Your First Referral
Now for the fun part—actually using the app. Here's how to send a lead:
- Tap the Send Lead button
- Choose a partner – Select from your connections
- Add lead details – Name, phone, what they need
- Set your referral fee – Choose a percentage or flat amount
- Send it – Your partner gets a notification instantly
What Happens Next?
Your partner will see the lead and can:
- Accept – They're taking the job and agree to your fee
- Decline – Not a fit for them right now
Once they accept and close the deal, they mark it complete, and your referral fee is processed automatically.

Be Responsive
When you receive a lead, respond quickly. Leads go cold fast, and your partners are trusting you with their client relationships.
Send Quality, Not Quantity
Don't spam your partners with every inquiry. Send leads that are actually a good fit for their services. Quality referrals lead to repeat partnerships.
Follow Up
Check in on your sent leads. The app shows you the status, but a quick message to your partner can help ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Build Genuine Relationships
ReferVo works best when built on real trust. Meet your connections in person when possible. The stronger your relationships, the more referrals will flow both ways.

How much does ReferVo cost? ReferVo is free to download and use. We take a small platform fee from completed referral transactions.
What if a deal doesn't close? No closed deal = no fees. You only pay referral fees on successful jobs.
Can I set different fees for different partners? Yes! You set the fee each time you send a lead, so you can customize based on the job and relationship.
